Kia Syros EV is to be released in India in 2026 with a target of strong competition against the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 with a range reaching 400 km.
Kia has the Syros, an all-new sporty shape ‘crossover SUV’ between the Kia Sonet and the Kia Seltos in India. Now, preparing to reveal the Kia Syros EV, which is anticipated to make its way to Irish roads by 2026. This electric vehicle (EV) is planned to give stiff competition to such names as Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 and is expected to have a range of around 400 km overall.
Platform and Design
The Syros EV will follow the same K1 platform adopted by its petrol counterpart. By contrast, while it will look like the usual Syros, it will feature a new bumper design and unique badges and will also retain crucial features such as contemporary LED headlights and automatically activated tail lamps that make this machine look fresh.
Inside, the cabin design will likely remain similar to the petrol model but may include different seat colours for electric flavour. The dashboard will feature two 12.3-inch screens for entertainment and driving information.

Battery and Range
Battery details are not clearly defined, but it is expected that the Syros EV should have a driving range of around 400 km. For reference, the Hyundai Insert EV, which is built on the same platform, has battery offerings with a range of up to 355 km.
Pricing and Market Position
Kia Syros EV would have a base price of around Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom), which is higher than models like Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV, both of which have already made their presence felt in India.
Competitive Landscape
Upon launch, the Syros EV will enter an already expanding market for charters in terms of electric mobility in India. Well-known rivals will include:
