Lohia Auto launches `Yodha’ EV brand with a target of selling 3 lakh electric vehicles by 2027 for affordability along with sustainability.
To succeed in the electric vehicle market, Lohia Auto made an announcement on launching a division called ‘Yodha’ with the purpose of manufacturing and selling 3 lakh electric vehicles by 2027 on December 23, 2024, as part of a Rs. 20-crore expansion for the market, with prices going to bloom with new affordable solutions in sustainable transport.
Brand Vision
The name Youdha is synonymous with aiding the empowering workhorses of the Indian economy. As Ayush Lohia, the CEO of Youdha, said, “With ‘Yodha’, we are creating much more than electric three-wheelers: we are empowering India’s true warriors.” This brand aims to pay tribute to those who work hard to support their families and strive to reach their dreams through a trustworthy, effective mode of transport.
Product Portfolio
Currently, Youdha’s product portfolio offers electric three-wheelers for both passenger and cargo applications so that they can be used across urban and semi-urban environments. The E5 for the passenger is for spatial optimisation and efficiency within the city. On the other hand, it has the E5 cargo version that gives a sustainable solution for logistics in response to the demand for greener deliveries.
Price and Features
The entry ex-showroom price for the E5 passenger three-wheeler is fixed at Rs 3.80 lakh. This model includes a 10-kW battery that supports an extraordinary range of about 160 kilometres with a single charge. Competitive pricing, according to Lohia Auto, allows lower electric vehicle prices to make them approachable for many while encouraging sustainable mobility.
Market Potential
The launch of Youdha seems as though it has hit the bull’s eye for the Indian electric vehicle sector at a turning point. From all that is said about the economy being harnessed to reduce carbon footprints in the country and moving to symbolic cleaner energy sources, electric three-wheelers have become the most important tenets of this strategy. Urbanisation plus rising fuel prices will jack up the demand for cheap and efficient means of transport.
Their mission regarding sustainability is to make complete electric vehicles with a complete local manufacturing production facility for Yodha, apart from emphasising environmental objectives. Besides, local employment will be created in manufacturing and sales, supporting local economies. This is consistent with the idea of India to encourage clean ghats in modernity, while both above ideas get aligned in reducing dependency on fossil fuels. Technological Innovations In advanced models, e5 technology is reverse-engineered towards enhancing performance and for the user. Recycling braking systems, as well as smart battery management, are provided to ensure both kinds of performance and everyday utility.
According to Lohia Auto, a very wide use of such future technologies will be created while being cost-effective for the consumer. Challenges Ahead Optimistically, though the situation regarding Youdh, is quite challenging as a lot of keen competition exists out there in the EV market. New entrants and established participants will compete for the market share, and therefore, differentiation in its offerings must be undertaken by Lohia Auto. It further emphasises the necessity of establishing efficient charging infrastructure to support this model going ahead in India.
Government Support
Electric mobility policy by the Government of India will align well with incentives and subsidies to be given to manufacturers and consumers. A policy like this is important for companies like Lohia Auto for investing in the design of electric vehicles. Future policy changes will throw up newer opportunities in this segment.
The launch of ‘Youdha,’ Lohia Auto’s maiden brand, has created a buzz in the Indian electric vehicle segment. By 2027, the company hopes to manufacture 3 lakh vehicles under these brand names; indeed, it will do well for sustainable transport in the country. Much of the initiatives are directed towards empowering people with new-age mobility solutions; Youdha is a step in that direction towards a greener future in India.
