Japanese EV charging solutions provider Terra Charge has set up the first public EV charging hub in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Terra Charge, a major operator in EV charging infrastructure, has inaugurated its latest public charging hub in Ghaziabad. This facility, located in Village Morta on the Delhi Meerut Highway near Pillar No. 682, is now open to all.
Focus on Two- and Three-Wheelers
The new EV charging point can power up to 72 EVs at once. Terra Charge appears to have planned it largely for electric two- and three-wheelers. 70 chargers deliver alternating current with a modest output of 3.3 kW. The remaining unit is a 60 kW DC charger for electric vehicles equipped with a CCS2 charging port.
50 Million Rupee Investment
Terra Charge invested 50 million rupees (about 545,000 euros) in its new EV charging hub in Ghaziabad. “Our new hub in Ghaziabad is one of the largest public EV charging stations in India,” Terra Charge India CEO Akihito Ueda said during the inauguration. “We chose to keep our charging hub open to public and commercial fleets to meet the region’s charging requirements and support large-scale adoption.”
Public and Fleet Charging
Terra Charge offers 50 EV charging stations around India, including the new Ghaziabad facility, with over 400 charging outlets. The corporation is looking for collaborations to grow its operations in India.
Airport Charging Partnership
Terra Charge partnered with the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in September to develop EV charging stations at major airports across the country. As part of the agreement, the company opened its first branch at Raja Bhoj International Airport (BHO) in Bhopal, a city in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Terra Charge also operates in Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia, in addition to India.
