The Vietnamese producer, VinFast, has officially joined the Indian market. The OEM made its debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, showing a number of automobiles. The EV company has recently stated that it will launch its India operations with the locally produced VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs. Here’s a quick look at the two e-SUVs VinFast has on show at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.
VinFast VF 7
The VinFast VF 7 was officially unveiled at this event. The luxury electric vehicle gets a fresh design that aligns with the brand’s design language. In addition, the VF 6’s covers have been removed.
Going into detail, the VF 7 has a distinct design. The front fascia is made up of DRLs which extend the width of the car and converge in the middle to produce a V shape that highlights the brand’s badges. A parallelogram-shaped cluster houses the headlight, which is supplemented by a strip of light positioned above it. The bonnet has lines and shapes that enhance the look. The SUV has few lines, broad wheel arches, and a new form for the alloy wheels. Similarly, the back end features modern tail lamps and a one-of-a-kind bumper design. The car measures 4,545 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm.
The SUV’s interior features a simple design with a floating infotainment system. The brand has also introduced multiple buttons for changing the drive mode. For the owner’s convenience, the brand also provides plenty of storage space. It comes equipped with a long list of features like a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a heads-up display, a panoramic glass roof, and a wireless phone charger. Safety features include 8 airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera system, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and blind spot detection.
Under the skin, the VinFast VF 7 comes with a 75.3 kWh battery pack. The brand offers two models, one with a single electric motor setup set to produce 201 hp and 310 Nm of torque. It has a 450-kilometer range on a single charge. The other variant features a 349 hp dual electric motor configuration with a peak torque of 500 Nm and a range of 431 kilometres.
The BYD Atto 3 and Mahindra XEV 9e are likely rivals of the VinFast VF 7.
VinFast VF 6
VinFast’s VF 6 is set to compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti E Vitara, Mahindra BE 6, and Tata Curvv EV. The VF 6 is expected to be available in two variants: Eco and Plus. It is a five-seat SUV with dimensions of 4,238mm in length, 1,820mm in width, 1,594mm in height, and a 2,730mm wheelbase. This crossover-shaped SUV comes standard with 17-inch alloy wheels. Its swoopy appearance is highlighted by a variant of VinFast’s V motif with a narrow ‘grille’ and full-width DRLs, as well as headlight and fog lighting units set lower near the bumper.
The black cladding that runs from front to back, as well as the creases and cuts on the bonnet and along the flanks, The rear appears even sportier, with an almost coupe-like roofline and a rear spoiler, as well as narrow LED taillights with the ‘V’ symbol and extending from side to side.
In comparison to its predicted competition, the VF 6 has a 59.6kWh battery pack. The VF 6 Eco variant’s battery has an estimated WLTP range of 399km on a single charge and powers a 178hp, 250Nm front axle-mounted electric motor. In the Plus model, the same battery pack drives a 204hp, 310Nm motor and claims a range of 381km. In terms of functionality, the Eco and Plus trims are nearly identical; both include a Level 2 ADAS suite, a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, and the ability to get over-the-air (OTA) upgrades.
More information will be released in the following months, but we can confirm that VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 pricing will be announced before this year’s holiday season.
