The best upcoming cars launching in March 2025 include the Maruti e-Vitara, the Volvo XC90, and more.
With the Auto Expo in January and several new car launches in February, the Indian automobile sector has had a busy start to 2025. The first quarter is coming to a finish, and in March, the market will see another round of car releases. While February has largely seen model-year tweaks and special edition versions, March is likely to pave the stage for more significant releases. Maruti Suzuki is likely to debut its first electric vehicle under this name, a big milestone for the company. These vehicles are anticipated to be released in March 2025.
Maruti e-Vitara
The new Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will launch in mid-March, and it has a muscular design and a premium cabin. It will get a 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery pack options with a claimed range of over 500 km. The e-Vitara is priced in the range of ₹17 lakh to ₹21 lakh, ex-showroom, making it competitive with other electric SUVs like the MG ZS EV and the Tata Curvv EV. This launch is significant for Maruti Suzuki as it forays into the electric vehicle (EV) segment for the first time.
Volvo XC90
The Volvo XC90 facelift, India’s most expensive Volvo yet, is another important launch lined up in March. The updated XC90, which is priced at approximately ₹1 crore, ex-showroom, incorporates subtle design details, including a revised bumper and sharper LED headlamps. Inside, it features a new cabin that includes an 11.2-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display. A plug-in hybrid version may also be offered alongside the mild-hybrid petrol engine.
Luxury Debut
Scheduled to debut in March, the Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series is going to be the very first two-seater under the Maybach umbrella. The ultra-luxury roadster now features a gorgeous dual-tone red and black exterior with a matching dual-tone white and grey cabin. The automotive beast comes equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 motor that puts out 585 PS and 800 Nm of torque, helping it hit 0-100 kmph in 4 seconds.
Tata Harrier EV
Tata Motors is testing the Harrier EV-based production model, which will be launched by the end of March. Like the ICE, the overall shape of the electric SUV is pretty similar, although it gets some unique EV styling cues. And it gets a dual-motor setup, which means that all-wheel-drive is included and rated at up to 500 Nm of torque. Expected to be priced from approximately ₹ 21 lakh, ex-showroom onward, the Creta EV will compete well in the electric-focused SUV space.
Kia EV6 Facelift
Revealed to the public at the Auto Expo 2025, the facelifted Kia EV6 is set to go on sale in March. Just a few minor design tweaks on offer here, such as the redesigned LED headlights and new alloy wheels. Inside, a two-spoke steering wheel and a new center console are complemented by dual 12.3-inch displays and a 12.3-inch heads-up display. The facelift will be paired with an 84kWh battery pack capable of about 650 kilometers of range.
Market Competition
In March 2025, several upcoming cars will arrive in the Indian automotive market, especially in the electric vehicle segment, which will have a huge impact. The e-Vitara will enter Maruti Suzuki into the fold and ramp up competition among established models such as Tata and MG. On the other hand, there are luxury brands like Volvo and luxury performance brands like Mercedes-Maybach that will continue to provide premium products to the high-end of the market. However, as time goes on and the industry develops, consumers should see more and more functional and advanced vehicles on the market.
Future Prospects
Four years have passed since the first quarter of 2025, and now it’s time for us to peek to see those cars that were record-shattering when it came to sales in India. This momentum is driven by enabling government policies and growing consumer awareness of electric vehicles. Over 20 hatches and sedans are expected to enter the market, giving buyers a wide range of hatchbacks to choose from in their respective segments.
Global Context
As the world is shifting towards Electric Vehicles because of technological and environmental reasons, now all auto companies are trying to phase into the EV industry. This push by India for its EV sector is just a fraction of a global trend, with many countries investing in infrastructure and development for EVs. Indian automakers have proven their mettle to influence the world EV market with innovation and expansion.
