MG Windsor EV, MG’s third electric model, begins unofficial bookings; offers advanced features and a 460km range, launching September 11.
Official bookings for the MG Windsor EV have not commenced yet, but the CUV is available for unofficial bookings at some of the MG showrooms across the country ahead of the official launch on September 11. When launched, the new generation car will join the list of MG’s third electric vehicle to be launched in the Indian market after ZS EV and Comet.
MG Windsor EV Design and Features
The MG Windsor is a clone of the Wuling Air EV, yet it is a differently styled vehicle. As for the exterior design, there is a wide light bar at both the front and rear part of the car, concealed door handles, and vertically oriented headlamps. Also, the charging port of the car is on the front side fender for a convenient placement.
In the cabin of the Windsor EV, the manufacturer is going to provide a luxurious look with a 15.6-inch centre touch screen to control features like wireless smartphone integration, navigation, and MG personal style. Another luxurious feature to the vehicle is the availability of the panoramic sunroof, climate control and the reclinable back seats. Other interesting and additional features used in the car include the 360-degree camera system, used to improve safety and ease of maneuvering the car.
Powertrain and Range
Globally, the MG Windsor EV is available with two battery options: a 37.9kWh unit and a 50.6kWh unit and these two models have totally different driving ranges. According to MG, the new Windsor is capable of going up to 460 km on a single charge and it remains to be seen which battery options would be listed in India. The company has not released much information regarding the powertrain and other features but more information will be released as the company draws the launch date near.
