Tata launches Nexon EV Red Dark Edition with bold styling, premium features, and improved range, based on the Empowered 45+ variant.
In its Amaze special edition strategy, Tata Motors has now launched the Nexon EV Red Dark Edition. This new edition resembles the aspect and the Jamaican chiefs, Red Dark versions that have been seen in the Safari and Harrier vehicle models. Priced at ₹855,000, the Red Dark Edition sits ₹20,000 above the Empowered 45+ variant built on it.
Exterior and Interior Design
The exterior of the Nexon EV Red Dark Edition has black treatment where the red inserts are used sparingly at the front and back bumper. A major exterior design feature is the red dark logo at the side of the car’s front fenders. On the inside it’s red with a black dashboard and red interior with #Dark logos embroidered to the headrests. Improving the interior ambiance, Tata has offered the new feature as the Sunroof with voice recognition while the car compartment has more boot space and a new front trunk called ‘frunk’.
Feature-Rich Cabin
The comfort inside is also intensified by the Red Dark Edition which comes with modern gizmos such as digital displays, 360-digital camera, a connected car feature and climate control with AC at the rear. A complete LED lighting package adds more to the edgy feeling of the SUV.
Performance and Charging
The Nexon EV Red Dark Edition is powered by the 45+ battery pack that provides the claimed range between 350 to 379 km and the Tata asserts the range up to 489 km on paper. The compact battery with high energy density allows the PHEV to accept a fast charging mode, which may take 40 minutes with a 60 kW charger to charge the battery from 10% to 80%. Further, a range of 130 km can be extended in only 15 minutes charging under the same charging conditions which makes it suitable for urban and highway use.
