Tata Motors expands its EV lineup with Curvv EV launch and Charge Point Aggregator, enhancing its market leadership and charging ecosystem.
Tata Motors, amongst the widest portfolio of EVs in the world, plans to launch its newest model, the Curvv EV on August 7. Although Tata Motors remained on top of the electric vehicle market in India, this SUV represents a further shift in the carmaker’s bold EV plan.
Charge Point Aggregator Announcement
The Charge Point Aggregator is another product from Tata Motors that is expected to accompany the roll-out of the Curvv EV. This feature will provide real-time information on more than fifteen charging providers across the country, and it is set to be launched on 7th August 2024. In pursuance of this, the Charge Point Aggregator is expected to add more to the already existing ecosystem of Tata’s electric vehicles by offering real time information about the charging stations, range based navigation, and charging station rating from the connected car app.
Tata’s Dominance in the EV Market
Currently, Tata Motors is a market leader in EV passenger vehicles in India with its products such as Nexon EV, Tigor EV, Tiago EV, Punch EV. Tata currently dominates this segment with more than 70% market share. The company’s vision is to roll out three more of the EVs at least in the current fiscal year beginning with the Curvv EV. The Curvv EV, set to be introduced on the 7th of August 2024, is the second car built on the ‘acti.ev’ architecture; the model comes with the absence of door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts, as well as spacious boots both at the rear and front.
Tata’s Upcoming EV Models – Sierra EV and Harrier EV
Tata Motors is also working on other much anticipated models of the EV as well. The Tata Harrier EV is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025 and was displayed at Auto Expo 2023 it also runs on Tata’s new Acti.EV architecture. Another model much anticipated is the Tata Sierra which was first displayed as an EV concept at Auto Expo 2020 and then with a renewed look at Auto Expo 2023. Further, there is still the Tata Altroz EV, which is Tata’s second electric hatchback model in the works after the already mentioned Tata Tiago EV.
