Tata revs up the EV game with the Curvv Dark Edition—blending bold design, premium features, and an IPL 2025 push to attract young Indian buyers.
Tata Motors launched the Curvv EV Dark Edition in India for ₹22.24 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant adds a distinctive blacked-out style to the popular electric SUV coupe, giving it more flair and a sporty look
The Curvv EV Dark Edition, as the name suggests, focuses on the black theme. The Coupe receives a full Glossy Carbon Black treatment, including the alloy wheels and front grille. The fenders have #Dark badges, and the usual chrome detailing has been replaced with dark chrome accents. The roof liner and interior moldings are completely black, giving the cabin a luxurious and stealthy appearance.
What’s New?
While the design is the focus, the mechanical feature set remains the same as the top-spec Empowered+ A model. Rear window sunshades are a simple but useful addition that many users would appreciate, especially in Indian summers.
Key features include:
- 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
- 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
- 360-degree camera
- Panoramic sunroof
- Ventilated front seats
- ADAS with lane assist and adaptive cruise control
- Electrically operated tailgate
- Ambient lighting
Battery and Performance
The Tata Curvv EV Dark Edition only has a larger 55 kWh battery pack option with a stated range of up to 502 km on a single charge (MIDC). It is driven by a single motor with 167 hp and 215 Nm, allowing the car to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. It supports DC rapid charging, allowing you to charge from 10% to 80% in just 40 minutes.
The Dark Edition is priced Rs. 25,000 higher than the Empowered + A variant, mainly for its exclusive styling and a few added touches. It now takes the top spot in the Curvv EV range and becomes a part of Tata’s expanding #Dark lineup, which also includes favourites like the Nexon EV Dark Edition.
The cabin features a blacked-out dashboard, black leatherette seats, a dark roof liner, and dark chrome highlights. Manual rear window sunshades, which are unique to the Dark Edition, improve rear passenger comfort during extended rides or in sunny conditions.
IPL Tie-In
The Curvv EV, already in the spotlight as the official car of the IPL 2025, is drawing even more attention with the launch of the new Dark Edition. Tata has taken a smart step to strengthen its marketing position by bringing Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal as the brand ambassador for the IPL 2025 season. This collaboration not only increases the brand’s visibility and awareness in India’s most important event, but also allows Tata to engage with younger customers.
