Suzuki launched its first electric scooter, e-Access, at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, featuring a 95 km range and high-tech.
At the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, Suzuki Motorcycle India took an aggressive step towards the electric vehicle market by showcasing its first electric scooter designed for the Indian consumer, the e-Access. This launch was pivotal for Suzuki as it shifted towards sustainable mobility solutions in the fast-changing automotive industry.
Design Features
The e-Access is inspired by Suzuki’s massively distributed internal combustion engine (ICE) scooter, the Access 125. Its design is characterised by a sharp line aesthetic, and a sleek profile. On the front side of the scooter, there is an LED headlamp and a turn indicator set up that wraps around the Suzuki badge. The overall appearance is further enhanced by a stretched, one-piece seat and aluminium wheels, improving both aesthetics and utility.
Colour Options
Customers can choose from three attractive dual-tone colour combinations:
- Metallic Mat Black No.2 / Metallic Mat Bordeaux Red
- Pearl Grace White / Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray
- Pearl Jade Green / Metallic Mat Fibroin Gray
Performance Specifications
The e-Access is equipped with a 3.07 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP)-based battery and offers a decent range, i.e., 95 km on full charge. This kind of service is therefore appropriate for a routine commuting application and no frequent recharging is required. The electric motor can deliver a peak power of 4.1 kW (5.5 bhp) with 15 Nm of torque, reaching a max speed of 71 km/h.
It’s quite easy to charge the batteries; it approximately takes 6 hours and 40 minutes from the normal charger, while a fast charger can reduce the time to a near-engaging charge of only 2 hours and 12 minutes. This potential for versatile charging means that users can easily incorporate e-Access into their everyday life.
User-Friendly Features
Suzuki has integrated a number of advanced functionalities into the e-Access to enhance the system for the end-user experience:
- A colour TFT LCD that also provides smartphone app access through the Suzuki Ride Connect-E App.
- There are several riding modes (Eco, Ride A, Ride B) and a reverse mode for greater ease of use.
- A multi-function switch with keyless ignition
These features not only improve usability, but they make the scooter compatible with the technological current trends that are at the heart of the modern era and which contribute to a competitive advantage in the market of electric scooters.
Safety and Comfort
Safety features, including the front disc brakes and the rear drum brakes, are included in the e-Access which provide good stopping power. Suspension is provided by a telescopic fork in front and a rear mono-shock in back providing both stiffness and comfort while travelling on varying ground.
Stable and manoeuvrable, with a curb weight of 122 kg. Seat height is adjusted to 765 mm and, therefore, accessible for riders with various heights.
Market Positioning
Suzuki plans to market the e-Access as a family-friendly electric scooter, which is convenient and stylish. Honda Activa E or Bajaj Chetak will be the legacy leaders of electric scooters like main vehicles taken by both furthering rapidly at India electric scooter market-innovative TVS iQube, Ather Rizta or Ola S1 as well.
A Suzuki E-Access model is to be launched shortly and pricing will be something to watch out for since it is planned to be made a consumer product and scheduled for launch sometime during 2025.
The immediate initiative from Suzuki Motorcycle India to explore the field of e-mobility was the introduction of the much-awaited E-Access at the Bangladesh Mobility Expo. Triggered by its attractive design, the extensive range of its offer, and its relatively low price, e-Access is well positioned to be adopted by consumers who take environmentally responsible, energy efficient, and environmentally sustainable transport as their mode of transport.
