Hyundai Creta EV is debuting in early 2025 and offers a 45kWh battery, modern features & rivals top midsize electric SUVs.
Hyundai is preparing for the launch of one of the highly expected models, the new generation Creta EV, the launch of which is planned for the beginning of 2024 worldwide, starting with India. The midsize electric SUV will pave its pathway with rivals in the form of Tata Curvv EV, Maruti eVX SUV, MG ZS EV, as well as BYD Atto 3.
Interior Design and Features
Hyundai has been testing the Creta EV for over an year now and we have fresh spy shots that give quite an info about its interior –
- In harmony with the international Kona EV model, the Creta EV will also have a newly incorporated three spoke type steering wheel.
- The Drive mode selector is now located on the steering column, layout that is shared with another Hyundai model, Kona EV.
- With two cup holders, the electronic parking brake button, cooled seats, auto hold, and a 360-camera system added to the design.
- Derived from the Alcazar facelift, these controls are different from the ICE-powered Creta.
- An infotainment system and the instrument cluster that can be controlled by two screens side by side will be preserved but is expected to enrol exciting new characteristics and a novel graphic interface.
Exterior Design
The exterior of the Creta EV will have designs similar to the facelifted ICE-powered Creta but it will also be spiced up with some EV-centric finishes –
- A closed-off grille.
- New front and rear bumpers.
- Aero-optimised alloy wheels for improved efficiency.
Battery and Performance
- Battery Pack – The Creta EV will feature a 45 kWh pack, as the entry-level Tata Curvv EV but less than MG ZS EV (50.3 kWH) and Maruti eVX (48-60 kWH) batteries.
- Motor Power – A single front-axle-mounted motor with 138hp electrical power output and 255 Nm torque on par with Kona EV.
Production Plans
Hyundai has set its sights on the commencement of the construction of the Creta EV by December 2023 with sales of around 24,000 units on an annual basis.
