Spark Minda partners with Sanco to develop advanced Electrical Distribution Systems, boosting India’s EV market with innovative solutions.
Indian automotive sector leader Spark Minda Limited has tied up with Sanco Connecting Technology–based out of China to develop state-of-the-art Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) for India’s electric vehicle (EV) market. The collaboration has been done to further augment Minda’s product portfolio with the support of DelVision instrument presentation technology and cater to surging demand in the rapidly growing EV segment.
The collaboration under which Spark Minda & Sanco will be making next generation EV Connection Systems and zero-emission tech like Charging Gun Assemblies, Power Distribution Units (PDU) and Battery Distribution Units (BDU), is aligned with the Governments ‘Make in India’ Plan.
Strategic Importance
The alliance syncs with Spark Minda’s vision of providing tailor-made EDS solutions to cater the varied requirements from Indian EV manufacturers. Commenting on the partnership, Aakash Minda, Executive Director of Minda Corporation said this was a significant one in realizing novel and sustainable mobility solutions for the Indian EV market.
Global Collaboration
For Sanco, the association signifies a major stride in its endeavor to globalize by entering into India’s robust EV space. Sanco Chairman Zhijian Zeng further said Minda has strong relationships with global automakers, and these will be of immense help in bringing state-of-the-art technology-driven solutions to Indian OEMs.
Future Outlook
With the Indian EV market expanding, the Spark Minda-Sanco partnership will act as a catalyst towards driving innovation; supporting localization and with that enabling wider adoption of electric vehicles in India- hence securing an important place for Minda as the fast developing supply chain ecosystem leading to Electric Vehicles (EV).
