Teaser released ahead of Skoda’s seven-seater electric SUV, likely to challenge Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9 Here’s everything we know!
Skoda has recently teased its flagship seven-seat EV SUV which will reportedly continue with Space as the name. Built atop the Enyaq, this new SUV looks to take on cars that include the likes of the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9. The SUV will be the most high-end and expensive Skoda model yet, based on the Vision 7S concept that was revealed last year.
Larger Dimensions
The new Skoda electric SUV is the yet-to-be-named SUV and is likely going to be bigger than the Kodiaq, Skoda’s flagship ICE model, and the recently updated five-seater Enyaq EV. The weathered teaser showcases a daring look, including a butterfly grille and a T-shaped LED at the front and back. These design cues are in line with the Vision 7S concept, which has given the SUV an eye-catching, futuristic exterior.
Powertrain Possibilities
The powertrain details remain a secret, although the SUV will almost assure use the MEB EV platform. The entry-level variants may still feature a single motor to cater to a more price-sensitive segment, while higher trims will likely receive dual-motor setups. The range on the Vision 7S concept was 600 km (WLTP) and Skoda fans are excited to see if the production version will match this figure.
Upcoming Skoda Launches
In fact, this seven-seat electric SUV will see a global launch, and there are exciting plans on the card for the Indian market as well. The new-generation Kodiaq, the Octavia RS, and the Superb will be launched. The Enyaq IV, which is the brand’s first electric vehicle for India, is also anticipated to debut, signifying a key step to electrification in India.
As it prepares to make the seven-seat electric SUV and future models its vanguard, Skoda is making some not-too-subtle moves. High-end and cutting-edge models launched by them reflect the significance the brand has begun giving sustainability, technological advancement, and also the transformation of requirements of modern-day customers. Shaken with a new sense of purpose, Skoda possesses the ingredients to hold on to the world as well as local markets, hence an interesting time for the brand and those who support it.
The new name that we strongly suspect Skoda will give to its forthcoming seven-seater electric SUV: ‘Space’. With tech-forward features, head-turning looks, and competitive range, this flagship offering will no doubt shake up the EV space. With a roster of promising launches lined up for 2023, Egatz is sure to be catering to the same page-turning excitement for Skoda fans in India.
