According to CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, Ola Electric will soon begin manufacturing electric bikes as part of its EV expansion goal.
Nearly three months after launching its first electric motorcycle Roadster in India, the country’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer is preparing to ship the first units to customers. Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO and Founder of Ola Electric revealed that the EV maker is coming closer to starting production on the electric motorcycle it debuted in August of this year. Ola Electric has unveiled three more electric bikes in addition to the entry-level Roadster, with the business hoping to capture the sector soon with a wide range of options.

Bhavish Aggarwal took to social media to announce that Ola Electric is moving closer to developing electric bikes by sharing an update on the EV maker’s new Gigafactory, where these models would be made. He wrote, “Futurefactory is expanding with the upcoming motorcycle. And the Gigafactory is approaching commercial production.” On August 15, Ola Electric debuted its first electric motorcycle Roadster, priced at ₹75,000. At the same time, bookings for the Roadster were opened. Ola stated that the EV will be delivered by the next year. The launch dates for the other electric motorcycles have yet to be determined.

- Roadster X
- Roadster
- Roadster Pro
- Price: They cost ₹74,999, ₹1,04,999, and ₹1,99,999 (ex-showroom).
- Battery Capacity: It comes with three battery pack sizes: 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh.
- Acceleration: The Ola Roadster can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds
- Range: It offers a range of 200 kilometres with a 4.5 kWh battery.
- Maximum Speed: The maximum speed of the Roadster X is 124 kmph.
Top Features
The Ola Roadster will have three riding modes: sports, normal, and eco. It will also include a 4.3-inch LCD segment display with MoveOS 5, Ola Maps Navigation (Turn by Turn), advanced regen, cruise control, Riding Modes, DIY Mode, TPMS alerts, OTA updates, and more. The motorcycle includes features like Digital Key Unlock and Ola Electric App integration.
Ola Electric is Under Investigation for a Sales and Service Controversy
Ola Electric’s announcement comes when the electric vehicle maker is facing criticism for poor sales and service records. Following more than 10,000 complaints from Ola consumers about alleged violations of consumer rights, misleading advertising, and unfair trade practices, the consumer watchdog CCPA has requested that the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) undertake an investigation into the matter.
