Ola Electric teases its upcoming motorcycle, revealing new design elements and sparking speculation about a possible clutch or brake lever.
With Ola Electric’s motorcycle launch scheduled soon, the company has been spilling the beans slowly and strategically through a series of launches and announcements. With every new leak, the anticipation increases, and the latest preview shows even more of the design and has spurred quite a passionate reaction to it among the fan base – this lever on the left side of the handlebar is any idea?
Design Updates
In the most recent teaser, the company says that the Ola electric motorcycle will have a single seat which is a design change from the one that features a split seat on the concept model that was revealed in the previous year. It is also considerably clearer with the layout of the headlight wherein the DRL unit is horizontal with the indicators positioned above the headlight assembly. Other design features are an opening on the side panel, the stitch on the seat in red color and red striping on the wheels. The taillights are placed in such a way that they are hidden below the seat to enhance the structural design of the bike.
Tech and Features
The teaser also gives a better look at the motorcycle’s TFT dash, which will be a full colored version with smartphone connectivity and a number of other options as seen in the Ola S1 Pro scooter. From this it can be deduced that the motorcycle will have integrated technology features.
The Big Question: Clutch or Brake?
In all probability, the most appealing detail that can be extracted from the most recent shadowy snippet is the existence of a switch on this side of the handlebar. And that, in turn, gave rise to another question: is that a clutch lever or a brake? If it is a clutch, Ola’s motorcycle can be the second electric vehicle in matters after the Matter Aera to comprise a gear box. However since it is a hydraulic unit and the bike has telescopic forks then it must be a rear brake.
All will be revealed on 15th August when the motorcycle is to be launched for the world. The hype remains on as we wait for Ola Electric to unveil more of a brand-new disruptive product to the motorcycle segment.
