Noida International Airport partners with Statiq to install 24/7 EV charging infrastructure, supporting sustainability and reducing emissions.
Noida International Airport (NIA) has a tie-up with Statiq, one of the superior EV charging organizations in India to create a state-of-art charging network. Moreover, this partnership has possibly shifted NIA on par with the emissions blueprint and shall ensure cleaner transportation across the airport.
EV Charging Network Development
Statiq will be responsible for the installation and deployment, operation, and management of the airside charging network, thus providing constant access to the infrastructure. This will be a network for airport automobiles and concessionaires, which would help in deployment of electric ground support equipment and other EVs. During the first phase of deployment, Statiq will deploy 7.4kW AC chargers for smaller form factor vehicles and 120 kW and 240 kW chargers for fast charging.
Key Statements
In a press release, Nicolas Schenk, Chief Development Officer at NIA stressed on the concepts of sustainability and round the clock availability of EV fast charging. Muhammad Raghav Arora, the Founder & CTO of Statiq came up with unique ideas for fast and eco-friendly mobility for the airports’ logistics.
Impact on Sustainability
This collaboration can be viewed as a positive indicator towards the attainment of sustainable transport in the Indian aviation industry. As declared in the initial development plan, NIA is expected to cater to 12 million passengers in the first phase and as it progresses to the following phases to cater to at least 70 million passengers, sustainability commitments will be even further deepened.
