Gravton Motors unveils the Quanta e-Motorcycle in Hyderabad, at a starting price of INR 1,20,000 equipped with LMFP batteries and stunning performance.
Hyderabad-based electric vehicles start-up Gravton Motors has launched its ambitious electricity-propelled bike, Quanta, with a starting rate of INR 1.2 lakh at T-Hub. This is a major step in the life of the company, as it needed to turn its vision of sustainable mobility, as stated in the founding documents of 2019, into reality. The Quanta is built in its sleek, modern production plant located in Cherlapally, Hyderabad, and has passed the standard test conducted by the Automotive Research Association of India, or ARAI, to give Gravton its stamp of ready-for-commercialization.
Innovative Technology
The Quanta is unique as India’s first electric motorcycle using lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) batteries. This kind of battery technology improves battery durability, thermal protection, and overall performance, making this battery appropriate for both daily commuting and adventurous purposes. 12. The ‘Quanta’ is equipped with a lithium composite battery at 2.78 kWh and has a cruising range of 130 km per charge for energy-saving riders.
The Specifications
Based on a 3 kW BLDC in-wheel motor with a maximum wheel torque of 170 Nm, the Quanta has a top speed of 75 km/h. This makes it possible for the quad bike to be used on different riding terrains which may only be possible when it is designed with great strength. Also, the motorcycle can carry a maximum of 265 kg, allowing for the appropriation of the motorcycle to different users.
Fast Charging Capability
The Quanta has an organized charging mechanism where it takes half an hour to one hour and thirty minutes of charging to charge up to 80 % when it is being charged using the standard 3-pin socket. This means that there is less time wasted in charging, and the possibility of integrating electromobility in the users’ lives greatly increases. 13 Charging the motorcycle will cost $60, but only 2.7 units of electricity will be required to do so, as compared to the other gasoline motorcycles.
Record-Breaking Journey
For instance, Quanta entered the Asia Book of Records for longest electric motorcycle endurance run in India from Kanyakumari to Khardung La 4011 km in 6.5 days. There is much to say about the sustainability and reliability of Gravton’s engineering based on this achievement.
Community Engagement
This motorcycle was launched during the unveiling event of this product where the founder and CEO of Gravton Motors Ltd., Parshuram Paka, handed the key of this Quanta motorcycle to his school teacher Shri Gangaram thanking the society. Also, the first ten motorcycles were bought by anyone who wanted these motorcycles from Paka starting the electric mobility around India.
Looking Ahead
If Gravton Motors is able to successfully launch Quanta, then the company plans to manufacture at least 30,000 units annually as the market for electric vehicles is growing in India. Gravton — the future player of sustainably-minded mobility in India. Indian governments have provided positive policies and support and increasingly people are identifying the imperative of EVs23.
However, the Quanta launched by Gravton Motors literally stands for the company’s R&D and growth of green automotive technology in India.
