Montra Electric hosts Super League for auto drivers, promoting EVs, addressing range anxiety, and offering education support for finalists’ children.
Montra Electric – an emerging EV brand under the diversified 124-year-old business conglomerate, Murugappa Group has come up with the Montra Electric Super League, or MSL for short, the first-of-its kind event thus far in the country that has been co-powered by Chola Finance. This special event involves 10 teams consisting of 17 auto drivers in total or ‘Super Riders’ as the league is called and its purpose is to change the attitude of the three-wheeler entrepreneurs and drivers towards EVs.
Promoting EV Capabilities
Range difficulties such as range anxiety are tackled by having the MSL urge participants to cover great distances while charging with a top-up during the course of the day. This competition involves 170 Super Riders from different parts of India which includes women auto drivers. In terms of distance, teams have to be as active as possible, and the team that travelled the most distance would win the game. Roy Kurian, Business Head of the Montra Electric Last Mile Mobility said, ‘With the Montra Electric Super League, what we are looking to showcase to the masses are the very exceptional prowess of the Montra Super Autos. ’
Educational Support for Finalists
Chola Finance has also added an educational component for the kids of the finalists. Aman Sharma, the President & Business Head- Vehicle Finance at Chola Finance said, “We are thrilled to be associated with Montra Electric in presenting this first of its kind Super League Tournament for auto drivers that are part of our daily lives. We are equally excited to announce Chola’s Super Dream Children Education program for the finalists of the tournament. Free education for life for up to 68 children of Super Riders contingent free.
Grand Finale and Beyond
The Montra Electric Super League started on July,5 and will end in early September and the culminating event will be the grand finale. The nominated Super Riders will be felicitated at a ceremony that will be held inside Montra Electric’s factory point in Chennai which will give them a firsthand experience on how the company’s electric vehicles are produced. Apart from representing EVs’ capabilities, this event wants to improve auto drivers’ existence in India and their lives with different kinds of support.
