The Comet Blackstorm will be MG’s first blacked-out electric vehicle and it is expected to be priced around Rs 8.5 lakh.
The MG Comet EV will receive a Blackstorm edition, the first time the business has released a blacked-out version of one of its EVs. MG Motor India has published a teaser on its social media account confirming the arrival of the blacked-out Comet and hinting at what will be available.
MG Comet Blackstorm Exterior and Interior Changes
The blacked-out Comet will have a black exterior with red highlights, similar to the Hector and Astor’s Blackstorm versions. The teaser depicts these highlights on the front half of the bonnet, the wheel covers, and the front bumper.
While the teaser doesn’t show it, the Comet Blackstorm’s interior will likely have black leather with red stitching, accents on the speakers and AC vents, and ‘Blackstorm’ badges and embroidery.
Comet Blackstorm’s price is expected to start at Rs 8.5 lakh
The brand has yet to announce the variants of the Blackstorm, but MG Motor India typically provides these vehicles with mid-spec options. The MG Comet is available in three trim levels: Executive, Excite, and Exclusive, with prices ranging from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9.84 lakh. Based on the price differential between the Astor Blackstorm and Hector Blackstorm and their standard counterparts, Comet Blackstorm prices are expected to start at Rs 8.5 lakh, while the mid-spec Excite costs Rs 8.2 lakh.
MG Comet Blackstrom Edition: Range and Battery
The Comet Blackstorm will be mechanically the same as the standard model. It will be powered by a 17.3kWh battery that powers a 42hp, 110Nm electric motor. This compact EV is claimed to deliver an ARAI-certified up to 230km and it offers a 3.3 kW onboard charge with the comet that takes 7 hours to charge the battery fully.
