Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara India will debut in January at the Bharat Mobility Show, with a March 2025 launch date.
Maruti Suzuki has taken a significant step toward electrification by introducing the e-Vitara, a production-ready version of its eVX concept. The e-Vitara, unveiled in Milan, Italy, is the automaker’s first electric SUV aimed at both the Indian and international markets. This all-electric SUV is set to be officially released in India in March 2025, following its January national debut at the Bharat Mobility Show in New Delhi.
Design Details
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is significantly influenced by the initial eVX concept, with a design that prioritizes tough style over aerodynamic efficiency. Signature features include LED daytime running lights with a distinctive tri-slash pattern and a strong stance thanks to black cladding around the vehicle’s base.
Dimensions Details
- Length: 4,275mm long
- Width: 1,800mm
- Height: 1,635mm
- Wheelbase: Massive 2,700mm
- Ground clearance: 180mm
Power and Range Options
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is expected to come in two battery options: a 49kWh base version and a 61kWh model with a range of over 500 km. The smaller battery drives a single motor with 144 horsepower, while the larger one has 174 horsepower and is front-wheel-driven. An advanced AWD variant, known as AllGrip-e, combines dual motors (front and rear) for a total output of 184 hp and 300 Nm, improving capacity on difficult terrain. The AWD model also has a dedicated Trail mode that distributes torque to improve traction.
Interior and Features
The Maruti e-Vitara’s interior is a departure from Maruti Suzuki’s current interior, including a floating dual-screen layout that handles both infotainment and instruments. A floating centre console, physical climate controls, and an electronic parking brake round out the interior features. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are planned as standard features, along with adaptive cruise control and hill descent control. Lane-keeping assist and multiple airbags are expected as ADAS safety features.
The Pricing & Competition
The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara starts at ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the regular 49kWh model and goes up to ₹30 lakh for the AWD option. Maruti’s latest product will fight directly with the Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, and Hyundai Creta EV in India’s growing EV sector. The E Vitara, Maruti’s first dedicated EV, is an important part of the company’s push into the EV space.
Final specifications and price are expected to be disclosed closer to the launch date, as Maruti Suzuki prepares to launch its electric SUV in one of the world’s fastest-growing EV markets.
