Mahindra BE.05 EV spotted in India, features a futuristic design, advanced aerodynamics and launch in 2025, competing with top electric SUVs.
Just a few months from now, Mahindra plans to release its BE.05 EV that will go up against the likes of the MG ZS EV, the Tata Curvv EV, the Maruti eVX, and the Hyundai Creta EV. Out of the five EVs Mahindra has displayed in the past, three are still under the testing phase including XUV.e8, XUV.e9 and BE.05 and out of them Mahindra is planning to launch BE.05 first.
Distinctive Design and Features
The Mahindra BE.05 EV has been seen in two variations which gives a clue to the existence of the upper class car in this model. Specific spy shots have unearthed the top version with a sharp LED lighting concept. The front incorporates massive C-shape LED DRLs which are the most conspicuous elements of the BE.05’s face. The rear also adopts this ominous theme with C-shaped LED Tail lamps, accompanied by the twin Roof Spoiler, intact from concept to reality.
Mahindra’s smallest BEV SUV
The BE.05 is a small battery electric vehicle SUV, though it has many more differentiations from other conventional cars with its slippery sleek appearance and a high, stylish ellipse roofline. On the inside, the BE.05 is yet again innovative, coming with a cockpit like structure with a clear divide between the front seats, something not common in most cars manufactured in India. The interior of the vehicle will consist of two screens measuring 10.2 inches for infotainment and instrumentation. It will be different from the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 models that have more screens. A lot of interior features will be similar to the rest of the Mahindra line of cars.
What to Expect?
The BE.05 is expected to go into production in 2025 with the INGLO platform of Mahindra, possibly equipped with a 60 kWh battery. This is in line with earlier spy shots and comes at a time when the India market is shifting towards smaller yet efficient EVs with superior aero efficiency such as the massive aero scoop on the bonnet and aerodynamic wheels to cut down on drag.
