Lectrix has launched one of the most futuristic NDuro electric scooter in India with an advanced battery leasing concept, priced at Rs. 59,999.
Lectrix EV has introduced its new NDuro electric scooter. Commercially launched in India, it follows steps towards electric vehicles. The launch was held at The Park Hotel in New Delhi, graced by important figures from the company and other stakeholders. It is designed to suit the changing needs of the urban commuter when it comes to high-end technology and exciting designs.
The Variants
This electric two-wheeler is available in two battery variants- 2.3 kWh and 3.0 kWh. The introductory price for the 2.3 kWh version starts at Rs 59,999 (ex-showroom), with an early bird offer of Rs 57,999 only for the first 1,000 customers. The other is a bigger battery option that costs more, ensuring the flexibility of the consumer based on his or her range requirement. Bookings for NDuro will be open on December 15, 2024, and deliveries are expected to start by February 2, 2025.
The Design
The NDuro is fitted with a sporty panel along with a centrally mounted round LED headlamp, with a long single-piece seat to accommodate two adults comfortably seated with maximum under-seat storage of around 42 litres making it ideal as a daily use vehicle. Build quality in terms of durability and style is indeed sure to appeal to modern urban riders.
The Specifications
Such performance attributes make the NDuro a complete package:
- Top Speed: Both models race to a speed limit of 65 km/h.
- Overall Acceleration: The model of lesser battery worth 2.3kWh speeds from 0 to 40 km/hr in a sprint of 5.1 seconds while the 3.0kWh unit takes slightly longer.
- Range: The smaller battery is claimed to give an IDC range of 90 km, while the bigger battery dramatically extends this to 117 km from a full charge.
The specifications here would make the NDuro ideal for both short commutes as well as longer rides in the city.
The Features:
NDuro has several new features intended to improve the user experience greatly:
- Hill Hold Assist: This becomes essential while starting on inclined surfaces.
- Smart Connect feature: Users can enjoy live tracking of the location, initiate emergency SOS, and get detailed ride analytics on a mobile app.
- An LCD instrument cluster provides features like speed, the battery state, etc.
Battery-as-a-Service Model
Battery as a Service is one of the most interesting aspects of the NDuro model. Customers will now ‘lease’ or exchange their batteries rather than buy them, significantly lowering the initial ownership cost. To put it simply:
- Batteries can be leased on a reasonable monthly subscription charge.
- Battery swapping stations will be available for users who prefer quick exchanges of depleted batteries for fully charged ones.
- Not only does this offer affordability, but it also raises some major fears of electric vehicle users regarding range anxiety.
Market Positioning
With the Lectrix NDuro already populating a battleground pitted against other electric scooters such as the Ola S1X and TVS iQube, the new player hopes to gain ground quickly with a pinch of everything judged right – pricing, features, and one-time innovative battery solutions in the ever-growing Indian electric scooter market.
The NDuro is thus another new launch by Lectrix that promises to make a bold statement in the domain of sustainable urban mobility. It offers style, performance, and technology, making it the prodigy against which all electric newcomers in the game will be judged.
