MG Motor India will announce Windsor EV pricing on September 11. This luxurious EV features advanced design and impressive range options.
Finally, MG Motor JSW India has formally stated that they will release the brand-new Windsor EV along with prices on the 11th of September this year. This will be the third electric automobile that MG will be bringing to the Indian market after the ZS EV and the recently launched Comet EV. The Windsor EV, effectively a rebranding of the Wuling Cloud EV, is all geared up to add new levels of competition to the burgeoning EV market of India.
Exterior Design and Features
The teasers of the Windsor EV have unveiled several significant trim and design elements externally. Leading and back ends will be fitted with LED light bars, just to make the car even more futuristic in its design. Swelling from the top part of the hood into the lower part, the headlamp cluster is positioned vertically and features projector headlights for better illumination of the road. Also, the Windsor EV will have a charging port at the left front fender, large alloy wheels for a muscular appearance, an integrated boot lid spoiler, and narrow, integrated door handles.
Interior Highlights
On the inside, the Windsor EV will be luxurious as well as comfortable to the user. Auxiliary functions will be powered by a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel for convenience of the drivers. There will also be a panoramic sunroof for the cabin to feel as open-aired as possible, and the new rear seats will be called ‘aero-lounge seats’ that will have a full 135 degrees reclining feature for complete comfort. The sophisticated interior design will include ambient lighting and black settings on the furniture.
Powertrain and Range
Across the world, the Windsor EV comes in two variants with battery packs of 50.6kWh and 37.9kWh respectively, the two powered by a single electric motor. Both these configurations provide a range of 460km and 360km, respectively, on a single charge according to the manufacturers. As to which of these options will be available in the India-spec model, time will tell. When launched, the Windsor EV will go into competition with the likes of the BYD e6.
