Global EV strategy is revealed by Kia during 2025 Kia EV Day with the launch of EV4, PV5, and Concept EV2 leading the charge toward sustainable mobility.
Kia Corporation is making a major push on its journey into electric vehicles (EV) with its global EV leadership strategy and the presentation of new models and technologies at the 2025 Kia EV Day. Scheduled for February 27 in Tarragona, Spain. The event continues the legacy of the all-new Kia EV Day launched in Korea in 2023.
PBV Leadership
Kia will showcase its leadership in the Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) category. This illustrates a shift in strategy first recognised beyond traditional B2C manufacturing of vehicles, responding to broader visions around the utilisation of EVs, and/or modular, flexible use case designs that can be adjusted to user needs. It is the first Kia model to use the company’s PBV platform and will be targeted at commercial operations.
EVs Unveiled
The EV4 was first unveiled as a concept in 2023 but makes its global debut in production form at the 2025 Kia EV Day. Also making its global debut is the Kia PV5, which was first revealed as a concept during the 2024 CES. Completing the trio is the Concept EV2, a small, entry-level SUV that will replace the Picanto hatchback in certain international markets.
Design Inspiration
All project designs show off Kia’s all-new design language informed by the manufacturer’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, with teaser images showcasing and exploring the innovative nature of each vehicle. These provide a glimpse of the distinctive elements of the Kia EV4, PV5, and Concept EV2. It has compact crossover proportions, a baby blue exterior, and a contrasting black roof. The EV4 will likely borrow its body style from the Seltos as a coupe-SUV.
Driving Mobility
These models are at the forefront of Kia’s EV plans thanks to the new electric platform. With its commitment to the business and passenger sectors, as well as its customers with mobility needs, Kia is determined to lead global sustainable mobility.
Power & Battery
The EV4 will also be available with either a 58.3 kWh or 81.4 kWh battery pack, powered by a single front-axle-mounted electric motor producing 201 bhp. Kia indicates a WLTP range of 400 km will be achieved by its EVs, but it’s not yet clear just what the target battery capacity will be.
PBV Strategy
Kia’s full PBV strategy, business vision, product lineup, and launch plan for the PV5 will be designated During the new EV production era. The PBV platform based on a battery electric skateboard architecture and flexible combinations of vehicle bodies will be highlighted by the company.
Leadership Speaks
Key members of Kia’s leadership team will unveil the EV4, PV5, and Concept EV2, whilst revealing Kia’s electrification vision for the global EV market. There will also be an Event video available on the Kia Worldwide YouTube channel in March. Kia is also shifting focus to the Euro market.
