There are two NCM battery options available for the PV5: 51.5kWh and 71.2kWh. The Kia PV5 cargo version has a 120kW front motor, 250Nm of torque, and a 43.3kWh LFP battery option.
At the 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain, Kia unveiled the PV5, its first electric vehicle under the Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) plan. A mid-sized car-derived van (CDV), the PV5 redefines space, functionality, and adaptability.
The Kia PV5 will launch in Korea and Europe in the second half of 2025 after making its debut in other regions in 2026. Pre-orders are expected to begin in the first half of 2025. Conversion models will be produced sequentially between 2025 and 2026.
The PV5 is built on Kia’s E-GMP.S platform, which is a specialized battery-electric skateboard architecture with modular changes to the body. The PV5’s versatility allows it to be utilized for a variety of applications, such as freight delivery, passenger transportation, and customized modifications. The PV5 is available in three body types: passenger, cargo, and chassis cab.
The PV5 has two options for NCM batteries: 51.5kWh or 71.2kWh. Meanwhile, the cargo variant features a 43.3kWh LFP battery, a 120kW front motor, and 250 Nm of torque. Furthermore, the PV5 offers a range of up to 400 km and a fast-charging option that charges your vehicle from 10-80% in 30 minutes.
The PV5 also has an infotainment system based on Android Automotive OS, which allows for over-the-air (OTA) updates. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) features improve vehicle use by allowing customers to power external equipment straight from the car.
