The newest electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV), the JEM TEZ, was unveiled by Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), the Jupiter Group’s EV division.
Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), Jupiter Group’s EV branch, unveiled the JEM TEZ, a new electric light commercial vehicle (e-LCV). The company also opened a factory in Pithampur, Indore. The move is part of the business’s plan to increase its footprint in the commercial EV market while also supporting domestic production.
The new vehicle has a certified range of more than 190 kilometers, an 80kW peak motor power, and a payload capacity of 1.05 tonnes. Its fast-charging technology can increase its range by over 100 kilometers in just one hour when used with a CCS2 charger. The e-LCV is designed for last-mile logistics and urban freight transportation, and its price range starts at ₹10.35 lakh (ex-showroom).
Jupiter Electric Mobility set developed a 2.5-acre manufacturing facility in Pithampur to support the company’s EV production and expansion. The plant has an internal skateboard platform and a car assembly unit. It can initially produce 8,000 to 10,000 e-LCVs per year, with plans to further ramp up. This project aims to boost domestic EV production and minimize reliance on imports to enhance domestic EV manufacturing and reduce dependency on imports.
Jupiter Electric Mobility intends to introduce the JEM TEZ in major cities where EV adoption is increasing, such as Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. The company has partnered with Porter, Pulse Energy, Battwheel, and Tapfin to create a robust EV ecosystem, which will offer crucial assistance, such as financing options, after-sales services, and charging infrastructure.
