JSW MG Motor India wants to sell 50 percent of its entire portfolio in electric cars by the fiscal year 2025. The company is all geared up for the launch of the sleek and stylish MG Windsor EV that will hit the Indian market in September, the first Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) in the country. It is also in sync with their long-term corporate strategy to dominate the fast growing Indian automotive industry.
Strategic Visioning for Sustainability
A JSW MG Motor India spokesperson stated the company’s goals, saying, “With the upcoming launch of the MG Windsor EV, we hope to sell more than 50% of our vehicles in the EV segment in the current fiscal year, which will continue to strengthen India’s automotive industry. ” The company’s strategy is not only limited to automobile sales but also involves paving the way for the EV market in India. This engages itself in clean technologies, local production of components for EVs, in developing battery technologies as well as associated recycling facilities.
Expansion of product line and production capacity
The company has set a target of introducing five new models in the next year and expanding the JSW MG Motor India manufacturing capability. Partnerships with Attero, Lohum, and BatX are instrumental in creating the circular model for EVs’ lifecycle. The company has also launched a number of programs including eHUB a central multilingual charging platform and Project Revive which looks into possibilities of secondary applications of Battery Electric Vehicles batteries.
Expanding Market Presence
The company is also increasing its stores both in big cities and in the new tier two cities.
