Hindustan Zinc brings new die-casting alloys HZDA 3 and HZDA 5 along with EcoZen, a low-carbon zinc product to Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
At Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, Hindustan Zinc Limited launched its advanced zinc die-casting alloys HZDA 3 and HZDA 5 to improve the Indian automotive materials industry. On January 21, 2025, Hindustan Zinc displayed its deep automotive sector motivation by launching innovative products. Hindustan Zinc used Bharat Mobility Expo to introduce EcoZen, its environmentally friendly zinc product alongside HZDA 3 and HZDA 5 die-casting alloys.
Expanding Portfolio
Hindustan Zinc expands its domestic automotive materials selection through HZDA 3 and HZDA 5 products. These special die-casting alloys meet the demands of hot chamber die-casting technology which major automotive plants rely on for production. They show better shape retention while providing exceptional surface finishes which suits them perfectly for vehicle part production.
To end the need for imported ZAMAK auto parts Hindustan Zinc creates these alloys in India. The plan supports the government’s efforts to make both vital sectors more independent and locally based in production.
Focus on Sustainability
During the expo, they launched EcoZen which generates 75% fewer carbon emissions than standard zinc products. EcoZen helps lower total carbon emissions by 400 kilograms for each tonne of steel that receives galvanisation. The new product solves pollution challenges and protects vehicles from corrosion throughout the industry’s sustainability journey.
According to Arun Misra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc Limited, these innovations help create solutions that match the demands of automotive makers. He said Hindustan Zinc aims to create superior materials that help sustainability goals and pass all industry quality tests.
Addressing Market Needs
New auto market numbers show that many Indian customers now prefer vehicles with stronger protection against rust. The majority of vehicles made for international customers in India use zinc-coated steel yet this protection technology appears in only one-quarter of vehicles built for Indian markets. The protection level offered by export cars reaches 70% to 80% zinc but stays between 3% and 50% for vehicles sold to consumers in the country.
Through its efforts Hindustan Zinc wants domestic vehicles to benefit from galvanization. To help consumers save money over time the company develops new products that protect against corrosion to lengthen vehicle lifespan and reduce future maintenance.
Market Advantage
Hindustan Zinc ranks as both the world’s second-biggest zinc producer and third-largest silver producer. Through these operations, the company holds major positions across many industries, particularly automotive manufacturing. Our company delivers metals that support many different uses including car parts, batteries and electronics. It follows ISO certifications and receives product declaration verification through the Environmental Product Declaration standard as well as adhering to Bureau of Indian Standards standards.
Automobile producers need galvanised steel now more than ever because they need to offer longer warranties against metal hole-related issues. According to experts in the industry, adding zinc coating enhances both durability and decreases future maintenance costs for vehicles yet increases price by under 0.1%.
Regulatory Changes
Hindustan Zinc enters automotive materials as India’s vehicle sector transitions under more demanding environmental standards and requires more local production. Hindustan Zinc creates innovative options that let manufacturers meet regulation standards while giving customers better access to sustainable products.
Hindustan Zinc became the top metals and mining player in S&P Global’s sustainability rankings but maintained its position for 2024. The recognition confirms Hindustan Zinc selects innovative sustainable practices to manage its entire corporate setup.
During 2025’s Bharat Mobility Expo Hindustan Zinc showcases battery-smart HZDA metal die-casting at EcoZen along with HZDA 3 and HZDA 5 die-cast metals to boost Indian automotive product options and help save the Earth. Hindustan Zinc establishes green automotive leadership through local product manufacturing and uses less foreign raw materials.
The increase in auto manufacturing in India requires Hindustan Zinc’s state-of-the-art solutions to help firms reach new safety requirements and better product specifications. With its environmental principles and leadership techniques Hindustan Zinc helps companies develop automotive engineering solutions.
