BYD launchs Sealion 7 in India as its 4th model in India at the Auto Expo 2025, the company will announce its prices and deliveries.
The brand’s latest flagship EV in India, the BYD Sealion 7, offers customers a more comfortable, spacious, and versatile alternative to the BYD Seal. BYD unveiled the Sealion 7 electric SUV as its fourth model in India at the Auto Expo 2025 last month. Soon, the company will reveal its prices and begin deliveries.
The Exterior
The BYD Sealion 7 is a mid-size SUV with a sporty exterior, low height, and a coupe-style rear end. It measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,620 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm. It has a 58-litre trunk under the bonnet and a 500-litre trunk behind the back seat.
The Design
The BYD Sealion 7 embodies the Ocean Aesthetics design language, with an aggressive shape, deeply sculpted curves, dual U ‘floating’ LED headlights, and a curving full-width LED taillight. The exterior highlights include flush handles, 20-inch wheels, and a ducktail rear spoiler. The inside of the BYD Sealion 7 is low-key and dominated by digital controls. The RGB dynamic mood lights with rhythm function highlight the cabin’s exquisite design and premium materials.
The Display
The Sealion 7 comes with a hands-free tailgate with a one-touch open/close function, a panoramic glass roof, a head-up display, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-speaker sound system, and vehicle-to-load charging.RGB dynamic mood lights with a rhythm function highlight the cabin’s elegant design and premium materials.
The front seats are also ventilated, and the driver has an 8-way power adjustment, a 4-way power lumbar adjustment, a memory function, and an automated leg rest, while the passenger has a 6-way power adjustment. On the safety front, the package includes several ADAS features such as Lane Departure Prevention, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Front Cross Traffic Brake, and Rear Cross Traffic Brake.
The Powertrain and the price
The BYD Sealion 7 will be available in two variants: a single-motor RWD called ‘Premium’ and a dual-motor AWD called ‘Performance,’ both powered by an 82.56 kWh LFP battery. The Premium variant, with 230 kW (308 horsepower) and 380 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in 6.7 seconds, while the Performance variant, with 390 kW (523 hp) and 690 Nm of torque, does it in 4.5 seconds. The former has a NEDC range of 567 km, while the latter has 542 km.
The BYD Sealion 7 may cost roughly Rs. 48 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Premium variant and around Rs. 55 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Performance variant.
