Engineered Motohaus announces more than 300 bookings for the VLF Tennis e-scooter, successfully entering the Indian electric vehicle market.
The newly launched e-scooter under the name VLF Tennis created quite a stir in the Indian market and booked more than 300 units soon after the announcement of its pricing in late November. The Italian electric two-wheeler brand entered India in association with KAW Veloce Motors, to manage the local manufacturing and distribution. At the recent India Bike Week 2024 in Goa, Tushar Shelke, the Managing Director of Motohaus, announced this achievement of bookings for the e-scooter among others.
Launch and Price
The price of the VLF Tennis is being quoted at ₹1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). With this price, it competes against best-selling models like Ola S1 Air, Bajaj Chetak, and TVS iQube. The scooter comes equipped with a 1,500-watt power in the hub motor connected to a 2.5 kWh battery which promises a maximum distance of 130 km after a single charge and the top speed is 65 km/h. The company has also part of the free service the facility of a 720-watt charger, through which the full charge can be achieved in almost three hours.
Domestic Assembly
The VLF Tennis will be assembled by Motohaus at its CKD assembly plant in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, and expects to improve production efficiencies and meet the rising demand for electric vehicles in India. It is also expected that the plant will cater to the assembly of other models under the VLF brand.
Design and Features
The VLF Tennis has an angular body and modern design with a tinge of minimum aesthetic. Its features include:
- Weight: The scooter weighs at a low 88 kg; this is an easy and lightweight machine to handle.
- Suspension: The scooter has telescopic front forks and a single rear shock absorber.
- Braking System: Disc brakes on both ends offer increased safety for this two-wheeler.
- Display: A 5-inch TFT display is on the instrument console, giving essential data to the rider.
- Lighting: With full LED lighting on the scooter, it promotes better visibility as well as its modern character.
- Dimensions: The scooter is 140 mm high off the ground and has a seat height of 780 mm, thus catering to the diverse rider preference.

Motohaus had deliberate future plans for expansion in India. It is to build an elaborate dealership network across Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities and plans to establish up to 50 dealerships by the conclusion of the fiscal year. This will grant access to potential customers hunting for the VLF product.
