Build Your Dreams (BYD) is a global leader in electric vehicle technology, known for breakthroughs in battery efficiency and sustainable mobility. With a strong basis in India’s EV industry, the company is always pushing the limits of performance and range.
BYD has recently debuted the 2025 editions of its famous electric SUV, the Atto 3, and the premium sedan, the Seal, in India. To attract more EV customers, these enhanced models offer improved features, cutting-edge LFP battery technology, and a competitive price. With a driving range of up to 650 kilometers, BYD is setting new standards for electric vehicles.
BYD Atto 3: New Upgrades
The interior and exterior of the 2025 BYD Atto 3 have undergone significant upgrades. The most noticeable upgrade is the new black-themed interior, which offers the cabin a more luxurious look. The front seats are now ventilated, which increases passenger comfort, especially during hot weather.
The facelift version also brings exterior upgrades like redesigned front and rear bumpers, an updated roof spoiler, and new aerodynamic alloy wheels that align closely with the Indian model.
A key mechanical change is the switch from a low-voltage lead-acid battery to a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, which is lighter, more robust and efficient. The Atto 3 still has a 12.8-inch rotatable touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which makes infotainment more seamless and convenient.
Another interesting highlight is the addition of BYD’s upgraded ADAS, named “God’s Eye C”. This system includes long-range cameras, ultrasonic radars, surround-view cameras, mm-wave radars, and other sensors to improve safety.
Key Specs
The Atto 3 Dynamic has a 49.92 kWh battery with a range of 468 km (ARAI-certified). The Premium and Superior models have a larger 60.48 kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 580 kilometers. The front-mounted electric motors deliver 201 bhp and 310 Nm of torque. The price range starts at ₹24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The first 3,000 customers will receive the 2025 model at 2024 prices as a limited-time offer.
BYD Seal: New Upgrades
The BYD Seal, the brand’s premier electric car, has also seen significant changes. A powered sunshade and a silver-plated dimming canopy have been installed to enhance the cabin’s luxury and comfort. The air conditioning system now has a better purification system to improve air quality.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard on all variants, allowing seamless smartphone integration. The Seal’s Performance edition has also been updated with an innovative DiSus-C Adaptive Damping System, which adjusts the suspension in real time for a smoother ride.
The Seal Dynamic model has a 510 km ARAI-certified range with a 61.44 kWh battery, and with an 82.56 kWh battery, the Premium and Performance models have a range of 650 km and 580 km, respectively. The Performance model now has 530 PS and 670 Nm torque, ensuring one of the finest acceleration figures in its class.
Booking, Availability & Rivals
Both the BYD Atto 3 and the BYD Seal are now available for booking in India. The price of the Atto 3 has been announced, but the official price of the BYD Seal has yet to be revealed. Customers can reserve the Seal for ₹1.25 lakh.
With its premium features and low pricing, the Atto 3 competes well with strong rivals such as the Tata Curvv EV and the Hyundai Creta Electric. Meanwhile, the Seal will face off against the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and Volvo C40 Recharge in the premium EV sedan category.
